Good reminder, I did buy Alan wake 2 on sale, kinda forgot I had it because it’s on epic and I never launch heroic lol. Thanks. I’ve heard Alan wake 2 is quite good but it seems like it ended up being surprisingly niche
I hated 1 but played through it before 2 came out because it looked, and turned out to be, right up my alley.
Seriously, it’s a miracle a sequel ever happened with such a terrible first installment
edit: Two sequels, I forgot about American Nightmare, which somehow has a worse story, voice acting, and pacing, but less unpleasant gameplay. Also, despite providing seemingly important context heading into 2, wholly unecessary
It’s incredibly good. I would say it’s only niche on PC because of the epic exclusivity. If you like RE games, twin peaks, the first season of True Detective, Se7en, etc. you’ll love this game.
I have bought it a couple times for different platforms just because I love it so much.
Control is well worth it. Quite possibly the best translation of a SCP-style universe, while retaining a serious/creative tone throughout.
The first 15 minutes is one of the best intros to a game I’ve ever seen. It latches on to this crazy weirdness in so many directions at once, and frankly, the weirdness doesn’t really stop throughout. As soon as you get the strangest explanations for one mystery, you’re presented with several more.
Guess I better finish control, I started playing by got distracted by the first berserker khazan
Finish Control, then hit Alan Wake 2, then this.

If you’ve liked Alan Wake 1 then you’ll like 2. Definitely recommend the series.
