Donald Trump’s approval rating has hit its worst level during his two terms in office, with more than six in 10 Americans disapproving of the president’s job performance.

Trump’s rating is at its worst on the cost of living and other economic issues since launching his deeply unpopular war against Iran in February, which has plunged the global economy into an oil crisis and sent gas prices rocketing to a four-year high.

Two-thirds of Americans now feel the country is headed in the wrong direction.

The numbers have been remarkably stable for 10 years, given what a shitshow it has unmistakably been.

Not necessarily; some will have answered non-committally or less disapprovingly. I think the article states that only 23% approve.

“He’s doing a bad job” is pretty strong disapproval you usually don’t hear from the gen pop.

And let me just add that our language of political discourse has eroded during the past decade; one can read more and more Trump-speak in headlines, it’s being adopted.

It’s probably more like 32-38% and they chose a 1-10 scale so they could round up for a better headline.

still… there would be 2 to 3 people out of ten looking at the wannabe Nobel Peace Prize guy waging wars, at the “jobs are coming back to America” guy sending unemployment rates up, at the “we’ll end inflation” guy causing $5 gas prices… should I go on? But still 3/10 people are looking at all this and think “eh, we’re doing fine!”

And? Nixon maintained 25-30% support up until his resignation. I’ll never understand what leftists expect to see from the American people

Oh look, another 6/10 survey. File it with the “2/3 of Americans aren’t massive idiots” and “60 to 70% of people agree good things are good and bad things are bad” surveys.

It’s the drawer next to the “51% vote for nonsense” drawer.

Would like to note that Kamala got 48.3%

The difference went to a variety of other canidates.

I imagine ranked choice voting would have fixed this

Such as what? Some of you Canadians talk a lot of shit for a country that didn’t wake up until ours threatened annexation. Then all of a sudden you realized the far right is bad and Americans need to get violent even though you yourself are too cowardly to actually say it out loud.

I call bullshit. I’ve seen polls that put congressional approval around 10-15 percent. And Trump is running Congress as maga Republicans vote however he says.

How the hell does this make sense? Over 80 percent of Americans disapprove of Congress… Why the hell are Americans voting for these schmucks?

And they’re scrambling to gerrymander it so they can cram even more turds in the toilet.

Based anecdotally on conversions I’ve had in a few different states: everyone likes their schmuck. It is the others that are, apparently, the problem.

Am I misremembering previous polls? I could have sworn this has been about what his approval has been ever since his first term.

4 in ten americans are delusional morons. Sometimes preventing a problem from happening at all is better than dealing with its fallout.

It would be better if that could be gotten up to 9 in 10 Americans say the president is doing a bad job, so he can be gotten out of there due to his threats of ending an entire civilization.

It doesn’t matter how many Americans think he is doing a bad job right now. Only the opinions of 535 people matter, and 219 of them are in on the take.
