The show was honestly surprisingly good for being based on a game with no real story. For having such big names in the cast it’s actually a little wild that one of the smaller names, Ashley Johnson (who plays Purple), basically carries the whole show, but maybe that’s because of her experience in voice acting compared to many of the others.
Having no story from the source material means you can do basically whatever you want, so it always made sense to me. Then again, Street Fighter: The Movie was in the same position and they still managed to make it not good (fun and campy, sure; but it isn’t exactly a masterclass of cinema).
Show?
Paramount has an Among Us animated series that came out recently.
From the article:
In addition to the recent news, it was announced that the animated series of Among Us is now available for streaming on Paramount+. Some observant individuals on social media noted that the show was released without much fanfare. However, it seems that the low-key launch was intentional, as they were waiting for the official announcement during the Summer Games Fest presentation.
It was stealth released before Games Fest where they announced it and this game.
Definitely not what he’s talking about, but The Traitors is basically among us.
