Bushmiller does something really interesting, here. Most cartoonists IME would have had the lady pretty dramatically reacting to bowed-Nancy’s presence, but instead, he merely adds a couple worry lines in her forehead and slightly pouts her mouth, and it’s enough.

Just masterful.
