Sure, some people think as you describe, but they are the minority. We’re supposed to be a representative democracy. 90% of Democrats want universal healthcare. (30% of voters) 70% of Independents want universal healthcare. (40% of voters) Even 40% of Republicans want universal healthcare. That’s no reason to not have universal healthcare.
