it was genuinely baffling how superficial and shallow the writing was, how underwhelming the direction was and how uninteresting the character designs were (I genuinely can’t remember a single one). The animation and music were great but overall it basically felt like a painfully average Netflix flick rather than a Watanabe.
I was a TikTok user from 2019-feb 2025, there was a very noticeable shift in the algorithm, especially after Trump’s inauguration and his deal that was struck to keep the app available in the US. Despite being European, I was suddenly served a lot of far right content and deleted the app for good. With the incident during the 2025 Romanian elections with Tiktok massively skewing the results towards the far right candidate I have no doubt it’s only gotten worse.
It being a positive force was probably true at some point, I’ve learned a lot and saw perspectives on this app I otherwise would’ve never seen, but in the state it is now it’s proven to be a danger for democracy (real democracy, not the “democracy” that brought us a genocide I want to clarify).
4K 120Hz is a really common TV input and even this is not possible in HDMI 2.0 without 4:2:0 chroma subsampling which is visually lossy especially in desktop usage.
They already mentioned DSC is lined up to go out but still needs compliance testing, so the code is probably ready. The “could” wording is by Phoronix not the AMD developer.
This work was already finished 3 years ago but couldn’t be sent out due to the HDMI Forum blocking it.

With the trackpads it kinda changes things, I have the og Steam Controller and it polls at 125Hz which is noticeably sluggish on a 240Hz screen. The same might apply here for people using even higher refresh rates (360Hz and 240/480Hz dual mode are getting pretty common), though not nearly to the same extent. Just something to keep in mind.
I went with microswitch buttons for my current controller (cyclone pro) and I honestly regretted it, they feel harder to press and especially hard to spam fast compared to membrane.
Recent thing that broke me: my 500gb samsung ssd is 15 years old.
AI would never generate an arbitrary detail like that curtain awkwardly folding at the right or the offensively plain singular bottle at the top left.

Can you elaborate on the input latency part? It shouldn’t really add any since it’s just isolation.
You don’t see a plaque when you walk into a building listing everyone who laid a brick as part of the construction.
We totally should do this though. Imagine how cute it’d be to have a construction worker be able to visit a building they helped build with their family or friends and point at their name engraved somewhere with a happy grin.
No one has such a tangible impact on shaping our world as people who create, they should be credited no matter the medium.
Waydroid works really well to run Android apps on mobile Linux, even for games. Doesn’t help for banking apps though as they’ll usually lock you out due to not passing Google safety checks.
Subbed. I have horribly delayed audio processing so I prefer subtitles either way and anime having such high standards for subs makes it my favorite form of media - they don’t feel like an afterthought.
