Andrew Puzder said Europe should “focus on the coffee and not on the froth” when discussing the U.S. president’s threats to annex the island.

Donald Trump’s threats to invade Greenland earlier this year were misunderstood, the American ambassador to the European Union said Friday.

“It got interpreted that we were somehow threatening Greenland’s territorial integrity,” but “the president never said we were going to invade,” Andrew Puzder told attendees at the Brussels Economic Security Forum.

During his second term in office, Trump has repeatedly floated the idea of annexing Greenland, without excluding the use of military force, which caused consternation in Europe. Puzder said the president’s statements were useful to bring attention to Greenland’s strategic importance, but should not have been taken seriously.

“Mr Puzder, does the President know that you don’t take him seriously?”

“Mr Puzder, can you please list which of the President’s statements are unserious?”

“Mr Puzder, is the White House aware of your attacks on the credibility of your President?”

It should be exactly like this, journalist after journalist should hammer this line on him until he fucking breaks.

I’ve had it with Americans getting a pass with the “hahaha just kidding” tactic.

There is zero reason why professional journalists should let slimes like this wiggle without pinning them down and mercilessly made to squeal the goddamn fucking truth. The media is complicit at this point.

Where’s that “You’re overreacting! You’re overreacting! … Who could’ve predicted this?” meme when you need it?

For someone who “tells it how it is”, Trump sure seems to need a lot of people explaining what he meant by what he said.

the president’s statements should not have been taken seriously.

As a government that is being threatened by the commander in chief of the largest military in the world, you don’t have that luxury.

Clearly not an invasion, just a forceful military annexation carried out by eliminating the Finnish military. Totally different. /s
