Years ago back when I was in the military I was Military Police. Being an officer I had to understand and know the UCMJ and the Geneva Convention. The MPs had to MOSs back then 95B and 95C. 95C was basically the prison guard. I was no longer in in the early 2000s when Abu Ghraib prison scandal broke I was like what the fuck are they doing? They were not trained like that. Now that I sit here and reflect on it I see where the CIA got their training from.

Tbf we do the same with real prison guards…and police and military. The us vs them propaganda is a key part of the training and culture for all three.

Even so, you oversimplify - see for instance peace activists like Maoz Inon (seen here on The Daily Show with his fellow Palestinian activist Aziz Abu Sarah).
