Most of these fall into the category of “fuck you, there’s no serious competition to the biggest provider, after the merger was approved”.

Plus some fuckery by Trump and Republicans. Things like medicine are getting hit hard due to the US government not caring to fund things anymore.

Actually, pretty much everything on this list seems to stem from bad governmental polocy.

Don’t be sad that’s gone, appreciate that it ever happened.

Also, remember to look up into the void and realise there’s a genuine possibility that that goes on forever and none of this really matters.

You’re literally stuck to a rock in the middle of nowhere and nobody knows why.

The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be. -Douglas Adams

Not much of this has to do with AI. 5g rollout slowdown as it became apparent that we weren’t replacing wired Internet with wireless is an old story. US government cuts and the suspension of research grants is also pretty well shown, and cutting 30 jobs at some pharma company ain’t something I’m breathless about. Logistics chain restructuring as a result of Amazon increasing it’s vertical integration to strengthen it’s monopoly to screw people over is also pretty old news.

I’m confused. Who thought that 5G was intended to replace wired Internet?

Yes I thought that for the first option, aerospace, tbh. Economy has crashed/slowed in ways unrelated to AI. For a few years I’ve felt like aerospace was growing too fast and due to shrink.

Federal civil service - while AI is the excuse for downsizing this, we know it’s mainly just because Trump’s administration believes in reducing bureaucracy to the point of its collapse.
