Depends, is it blocking the sidewalk? As in, a wheelchair can’t get past? In that case call the police and report a truck being on fire.
Otherwise? Probably nothing. There are legit reasons why you’d want to keep the trailer hitched and backed that far in.
You can literally see it blocking the sidewalk my dude.
Me? I’d mind my own fuckin business.
dude, moving is hell. literally it’s one of the most stressful things humans do. I fucking hate moving. The last thing you need is some karen screaming about a temporary blocked patch of sidewalk when you’re literally unloading the truck.
edit: I’d add - perhaps going over and saying “hey let me help you unload this trailer so we can get the truck off the sidewalk faster!” would be a much better option than damn near anything else, it’s a great way to meet and welcome your new neighbors.
let them get established before you pick out the reasons to hate them.
Telling that it’s perfectly ok to block the sidewalk but if they parked along the curb that’s just too much to ask. Like, I can literally see a space to park that’s EASIER than having to back that shit in right in front, and there are at least two lanes in one direction there so it’s no problem.
“Wahh wahh stop being mad at me I’m too much of a fucking baby to walk the extra 6ft! The trailer needs to be directly stuck to my front door or I’m gunna diiiiiiieeee” give me a fucking break.
Yesterday I helped my friends unload their U-Haul. They ended up parked in the Canadian Tire Parking lot across the four lane road and we just dealt with it, it was fine.
In my friend group they jokingly call me “moving daddy” because in a little over a year I helped about 10-12 moves by showing up and fully directing them. Moving really isn’t that hard and I never had to put a vehicle somewhere that fucked with pedestrians or even drivers despite living in a large city.
I used to be a mover, and there are definitely ways he could have done that better.
The dude is unloading stuff. It’s one of those cases where the guy may not be insensitive, but simply trying his best and there’s no other choice.
When I had trees felled on my property, a big truck came to pick up the branches and blocked the street for an hour because there was no other choice. I apologized to the neighbors who had to go around.
If the guy leaves immediately after unloading his trailer, or puts the trailer brakes on, unhitches and goes park someplace else, I’d say let it slide. If he stays there overnight, call the cops. You just can’t tell what’s going on in a still photo.
Park on the street?
So your plan is for him to block both the sidewalk AND the street?
Just the street
He’s still attached to the trailer. It’s not a huge trailer. By the time he unhooks it and re-hooks it, he could be done unloading. At least he’s courteous enough not to park perpendicularly across the road. It looks like he’s being as courteous as possible. Probably because he knows Karen is taking a photo right now to post on Lemmy.
I mean, you can park the trailer on the street as well and walk approximately 10 steps more to load it
You definitely shouldn’t accidentally spill saltwater on it, the higher the salinity the better, that will be a bad idea
You also definitely shouldn’t put bird seed on it either
Drill a hole in the cab and shit into it!
Seriously though, probably just walk around it?
just walk around it
And someone with a mobility aid that can’t go up and down the curb?
Get hit by a car after you fall out of your wheelchair trying to get around the truck?
Ah shit…
I see your truck and give you another example…
