I feel the urge to chuck a hunk of love their way.
and?
Good.
Good.
Good
Throw shit, get hit.
I didn’t see nothin’.
Well i hope he has an opportunity to prove how rich he is like he callously responded when confronted and pay that $20k fine for each offense.
This makes me feel happy.
Oh man, I hope this whole process is legally, financially, and personally agonizing for him
And… ?
(If he was) it makes me glad to know he got at least some kind of consequences he found painful. Since the $20 fine just made him smug.
Lytvynchuk is charged with violations of both the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammal Protection Act. If convicted, he faces up to one year in prison for each charge, along with potential fines of up to $20,000.
And?
Lytvynchuk’s defense attorney, Myles Breiner, claims his client was trying to protect sea turtles, mistaking the monk seal for an aggressive sea lion.
“So his response was not to hurt this monk seal, but to get it away from the turtles,” Breiner stated.
Oh, I mean… people can make mistakes. I wouldn’t jump to…
The witness confronted Lytvynchuk, who allegedly responded that “he did not care and was ‘rich’ enough to pay any fines.”
Welp.
He’s rich enough to pay fines but also poor enough to catch hands LMAO
The ‘affluenza’ defense.
Also, there are no sea lions in Hawaii.
So? That has no bearing on his crime.
Information about monk seals is all over Hawaii. The idea that this guy who visits frequently and is a fisherman would not know what a monk seal is is absurd. At minimum it should be cause for him to be banned from the state for being too stupid to safely travel there.
Also, even if that wasn’t a critically endangered species, attacking marine mammals of any species is still illegal. One of his charges is for violating the Marine Mammal Protection Act.
Throwing big rocks at wild animals is a cunts act and he should reap what he’s sown.
This! I don’t care if it’s endangered. I don’t care if it’s marine. I don’t care if it’s wild. Throwing rocks at any animal is enough to get your ass beat. Full stop.
While snorkeling at St John USVI I was following a sea turtle from a distance. It was just such a vibe to watch this thing eating the turtle grass. Then some asshole comes flailing towards the turtle with a gopro on a stick and basically starts poking it. The turtle swam away with the guy chasing it. Pissed me off so much.
I went to a bar that evening and told the bar tender this story. He stopped what he was doing and looked sternly at me. He said in that moment I witnessed the turtle being harassed, if I had swam to shore and gotten some locals to help find a ranger then the dude would have been lucky to just walk away with a large fine and not get his ass kicked by the locals as well. Bartender made me promise to report it if I saw it again.
